Power Smoothie

My Power Smoothie is simply delicious and packed with a punch of goodness. This recipe is loaded with highly nutritional ingredients that will leave you feeling energised!

One of the reasons why I absolutely love this recipe is because it contains mesquite. Mesquite is high in protein, calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc. It’s definitely an all round Superfood!

This recipe also contains cacao powder. Cacao powder hosts a plethora of benefits that will also leave you feeling at your best, and is a fantastic medicinal alternative. Cacao powder is found to have more than 40 times the antioxidants of blueberries. It’s full of magnesium and is the world’s highest plant based source of iron. It also has more calcium than cows milk and works as a natural mood elevator and antidepressant.

  • Ingredients:
    1 Scoop of Protein Powder
    1 tsp of Mesquite
    Pinch of Cinnamon
    4 fresh Dates
    1/2 Banana
    1 tsp of Cacao Powder
    Handful of Cashews
    Water or Almond Milk
  • Method:
    Put all ingredients into a blender.
    Blend until smooth.

I find that this smoothie is best consumed after a workout, as it’s full of good carbs, which are crucial after a big workout!
