If you’ve seen me on Real Housewives of Melbourne, then you know, above all, I have confidence in myself. I kick butt from the ground up.
I was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, but at 15 I knew I wanted something more and yearned for an opportunity to come to Australia. So what does a fearless woman do? I got myself a job as a travel agent, and worked my ass off until I could buy a one-way ticket to Melbourne. And I haven’t looked back since.
When I arrived in Melbourne, I ambitiously applied for a job as an accounts payable stock controller without any qualifications or experience. I went in thinking I would give it my best, but also told myself: “If I can get this job, I can do anything I want!”. And what do you think happened? I got the job.
Life has been a series of setting goals and achieving them ever since. I’m a successful property developer, a company director and a self-published author of Switch The Bitch. I’m also a mother to three beautiful sons, who are my pride and joy.
My message is plain and simple: you are the only person who can make you completely happy. Do not expect anyone else to be wholly or even partially responsible for your own happiness. Self-belief and conviction are the pillars of personal success and, in turn, living your dreams.
It’s all about believing in yourself. When you believe in yourself you’ll begin to think differently, act positively and move forward with assurance and purpose.
So whether you’re a fan of Housewives, or if you’re just looking for a bit of inspiration, I invite you to come on this journey with me. Together let’s channel negative into positive, hate into love, and conquer the world with realness.
